EHS Management Systems

Founded on the principles set forth in the EHS Policy, the EHS Management System is a structured, organizational approach to environment, health and safety management designed to drive continual EHS performance improvement across our worldwide operations. The EHS Management System establishes a set of management standards, guidelines and procedures that enable Invensys to reduce its EHS impacts while supporting our business goals and objectives.

The primary components of our EHS management system include:

  • EHS Standards – This is a set of 10 EHS standards similar to ISO 14001 requirements that establish general actions required to ensure the fulfillment of the EHS policy and a high level of EHS performance.  The standards cover general areas such as Workplace Safety, Environmental Management, Incident Reporting and Investigation, etc.
  • EHS Guidelines – This is a set of 25 mandatory EHS technical guidelines that establish detail requirements for each technical EHS area, such as waste management, electrical safety, etc.  Based on the guidelines, operations develop procedures or processes to ensure the implementation of these requirements into practices.
  • EHS Procedures – This is a set of 12 procedures that establish detail actions and processes for certain EHS activities, such as travel safety, EHS compliance audits, due diligence assessments, etc.  These are procedure documents and each of the action steps must be followed precisely.

The EHS Management System drives a continuous cycle of planning, implementing, reviewing, and improving the EHS processes and practices.
