We hold ourselves accountable for safeguarding the health and safety of our employees and contractors, visitors to our sites, customers and the communities in which we conduct our business activities. We take seriously our responsibilities to provide products, services, expertise and ongoing support which are safe to use and which help to protect the environment in which they are used.
Specifically, the Invensys businesses will:
- Regard people’s health and safety as paramount
- Ensure all employees, contractors, visitors to our sites and customers are aware of this policy
- Undertake risk assessments to evaluate the impact of our operations and implement appropriate EHS management systems
- Set challenging EHS objectives and targets; monitor for success and pursue continual improvement
- Provide the necessary resources, training and auditing to ensure compliance with EHS laws and regulations and other requirements to which Invensys or its individual businesses subscribe
- Report all incidents and potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions promptly
- Encourage active and innovative participation of employees in improving EHS
- Employ techniques to minimize environmental impacts of operations
- Make this policy and details of our performance available to the public
The Board is responsible for the EHS policy and holds the Chief Executive Officer accountable for its implementation and the overall performance of Invensys in complying with it. Business Group Presidents are accountable for the performance of their respective businesses, providing the necessary leadership, resources and programme implementation to ensure compliance with this policy. The Vice President Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability is responsible for leadership, proactively taking action to meet objectives and monitoring the overall programme, as well as supporting the CEO and businesses in delivering their performance. Each employee is accountable for their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions whilst at work.
This policy applies to all business functions and operations worldwide including those joint ventures, partnerships, or other business arrangements where Invensys holds a majority stake. It includes all people employed by any of these businesses and those employed by others for whom Invensys is responsible.
