Invensys demonstrates new SimSci-Esscor simulation software and asset management capabilities at Daratech Conference

Posted 23 January 2006

The SimSci-Esscor unit of Invensys Process Systems exhibited here today its latest simulation and modeling solutions for production engineering. Invensys is presenting its Comos® FEED integrated front-end engineering design platform, its ARPM automated rigorous performance monitoring solution, a new version of its DYNSIM dynamic simulation modeling environment, its PRO/II process engineering software, and a wide range of new asset performance management capabilities.
The Comos FEED solution is an engineering data and document-centric database management system that integrates all front-end engineering design activities. Comos FEED connects seamlessly with the SimSci-Esscor PRO/II process simulation system, enabling integration of engineering data, work process and document management applications into a single consistent platform.

ARPM v. 2.3 automated rigorous plant performance monitoring software uses real-time plant data and rigorous simulation models to highlight optimal operations targets and equipment degradation and extract validated process and equipment performance information.

SimSci-Esscor is also describing the ARPM solution in a conference presentation entitled “Automated Rigorous Performance Monitoring Provides Asset Performance Improvement.” This takes place at 3:30 on January 23, 2006 as part of the Instrumentation and Real-Time Operations track. The presentation highlights the benefits of monitoring and measuring process and equipment performance in real-time and covers improving plant and personnel efficiencies by identifying problem areas, predicting the benefits and economic impact of changes and exploring alternative scenarios.

The SimSci-Esscor unit is also presenting a wide range of other products and services for the COG/Hydrocarbon Industries and related EPC firms, including the following offerings:

• Version 4.1 of its DYNSIM software, an advanced, unified environment that facilitates monitoring of a plant’s entire production lifecycle. This new version provides an advanced pressure flow solver, a plug flow reactor, LNG multi-stream heat exchanger, as well as enhanced model rigor and ease of use. The DYNSIM modeling environment takes full advantage of open software standards to interface with other plant applications, including steady-state simulators and control system emulators.
• PRO/II version 7.1 process engineering simulation program, which performs rigorous mass and energy balances for wide range of chemical processes; version 7.1 provides enhanced lifecycle modeling, improved productivity and support for open standards and third-party modeling integration.
• Asset Performance Monitoring solutions which enable strategic monitoring of components such as instruments, valves, pumps and loops and system attributes such as alarms, safety, security and automation platforms. These draw upon technology, expertise and services from across Invensys Process Systems (Avantis, Foxboro, SimSci-Esscor, Triconex, Wonderware) and its technology partners.
