Invensys Process Systems opens new technology centre in Beijing

Invensys Process Systems today announced the opening of a new technology centre in Beijing, People’s Republic of China. The new facility includes well-equipped technology demonstration, customer training, and technical support areas as well as offices for local sales and engineering staffs.

Staffed by approximately 15 full-time specialists, the new Beijing technology centre complements Invensys’ existing presence in China, which includes the well-established Shanghai-Foxboro Company Limited facility in Shanghai, with its significant manufacturing, sales, customer support, training, and engineering capabilities.

“China represents a critically important market for Invensys,” said Jeswant Gill, president of Invensys Process Systems’ Asia Pacific operations. “This new technology centre in Beijing demonstrates our ongoing commitment to our many new and existing customers in the People’s Republic of China.”
“We’ve increased our focus on building long-term relationships with our customers in China by providing complete, value-enhancing automation solutions,” said John Sun, General Manager of Invensys Process Systems China. “Increasingly, these solutions take advantage of Invensys’ broad portfolio, which includes Foxboro process control systems, Triconex safety systems, SimSci-Esscor simulation and optimization, Avantis asset management, Wonderware human machine interface software, plus comprehensive engineering and support services.

“Our new technology centre in Beijing is ideally located to be able to support Invensys’ large installed base of power and process industry customers as well as its rapidly expanding base of customers within the Chinese oil and gas, refining, and petrochemical industries.”

The new Invensys Process Systems technology centre in Beijing is located at B809 Eagle Plaza, No. 26 Xiaoyun Road, Chaoyang District.

About Invensys Process Systems in China

Invensys Process Systems, a business unit of Invensys plc, provides products, services and solutions for the automation and optimization of industrial process plants. In addition to its rapidly expanding Global Solutions group, Invensys Process Systems includes industry-leading brands such as Foxboro, Triconex, SimSci-Esscor, Wonderware, and Avantis, whose products are installed in more than 100,000 plants across the world. These range from small hybrid and batch plants to the world’s largest refineries, gas plants, petrochemicals plants, power plants, and pulp and paper mills.

With the formation of the Shanghai-Foxboro Company Limited (SFCL) in 1982, Foxboro became the first major American manufacturer to establish a joint venture in China. Today, SFCL manufactures a wide variety of state-of-the-art automation products at its factory in Shanghai for both domestic use and export purposes. In 1991, SFCL became the first company in China to be certified under the stringent ISO 2001 international quality standard.

SFCL has implemented state-of-the-art process control systems in hundreds of different world-class industrial facilities throughout China. These include offshore production platforms, oil refineries, petrochemical plants, electric power generation plants, steel mills, cement plants, float glass plants, pharmaceutical plants, and food processing plants.

To be able to better meet the Chinese industrial market’s requirements for comprehensive and well-integrated automation solutions, Invensys recently formed Invensys Process Systems China, which consolidates the operations of SFCL, Triconex, SimSci-Esscor, Avantis, and Wonderware. Invensys Process Systems China offers the most comprehensive portfolio of automation products and services available from a single company.

The Invensys Group is headquartered in the UK and listed on the London Stock Exchange. With 35,000 employees operating in 60 countries, Invensys helps customers to improve their performance and profitability, building value for end users and shareholders alike.
