Invensys demonstrates enterprise control system technology and new composite applications for pharmaceutical manufacturers at INTERPHEX 2007

Provides effective platform and solution set for achieving operational excellence

Invensys® is demonstrating its advanced, standards-based enterprise control system technology at INTERPHEX 2007 Booth #1801 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York, April 24-26, 2007. The new InFusion™ enterprise control system combines industry-leading capabilities from across Invensys with advanced enterprise information and integration technologies from both Microsoft® and SAP® to dramatically reduce integration costs.

"With InFusion technology, most existing plant floor and enterprise systems can now be cost-effectively integrated into a common application and information environment. This provides pharmaceutical and other life sciences manufacturers with an effective platform for achieving operational excellence," said Jim Huff, director of pharmaceutical and specialty chemical industry marketing at Invensys Process Systems.

In addition to the InFusion technology, Invensys is also demonstrating two recently introduced SAP xMII XApps™ Certified Packaged Composite Applications (PCAs) that will help drive incremental value by offering pharmaceutical industry clients a single solution environment from the plant floor up to the enterprise.

The Real-Time Finance composite application, developed by Invensys Process Systems, is designed to help align process manufacturing operations with business objectives by providing managers in process, batch, and packaged goods manufacturing enterprises with clear, minute-to-minute (as opposed to daily, weekly, or monthly) information about and visibility into production-related financial performance.

The Real-Time Production Execution composite application, developed by Invensys' Wonderware unit, enhances production agility by providing a powerful pre-integrated solution for dispatching, executing, monitoring, and evaluating manufacturing production and performance runs in discrete, batch, and hybrid plant operations.

The Invensys PCAs can be plugged into any existing industrial automation and IT infrastructure to deliver important new functionality. This new functionality is enabled by standards-based interoperability between business processes that are managed within SAPbusiness applications and plant processes that are managed within Invensys' InFusion Enterprise Control System and/or the Wonderware® System Platform. Specific enabling technologies include SAP NetWeaver; SAP xMII (Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence); and Invensys' open, standards-based ArchestrA® technology.
