Wonderware Receives Top Reader Award from Control Engineering Magazine

Wonderware Wins Honors for New InTouch HMI Product

Wonderware, a business unit of Invensys, today announced that Wonderware InTouch 10.0 software has been selected by Control Engineering readers for the magazine’s “Engineers’ Choice Award” for the HMI software category. Winners were selected based on product service to the industry, technological advancement and market impact.

Since 2000, Wonderware has received six magazine awards for a variety of industry-leading products and technology innovations. This marks the third consecutive year that Wonderware has received a top award from the magazine.

Award winners are selected from among new products and solutions featured in issues of Control Engineering, Control Engineering Online or one of Control Engineering’s topical e-newsletters. Ballots are sent to readers who are responsible for or influence technology purchases, or have hands-on experience with the technologies listed in each category.

“The Control Engineering Engineers’ Choice awards are significant because they are determined by engineers who work in the control industry and are experts as to what types of tools they need to successfully do their jobs,” said Marc Moschetto, Control Engineering editorial director. “In selecting the products for each category, our readers were asked to consider factors that impact their day-to-day responsibilities. Wonderware InTouch 10.0 HMI was determined to be the most exceptional or noteworthy HMI software product introduced in 2007.”

InTouch 10.0 software is the next generation of the popular HMI software from Wonderware, which features new innovative ArchestrA graphics capabilities. The intelligent graphics capabilities enable InTouch 10.0 HMI to provide enterprise-wide visualization for a wide range of real-time applications. InTouch 10.0 HMI offers more than 200 new features and delivers the latest intuitive graphical interaction and animation techniques for maximum operator response and comprehension, while minimizing design and engineering efforts. Since its introduction, InTouch has been installed in more than 100,000 plants worldwide, which is 33 percent of the world's 305,544 plants with 20 or more employees.

Since its introduction in 1989, InTouch HMI software from Wonderware has been recognized for its innovative technology advancements with more than 10 awards from magazines such as Control Engineering, Control and Process & Control Engineering as well as from the industry research firm Frost & Sullivan.

“Being selected by the readers of Control Engineering is a significant achievement for Wonderware,” said Rashesh Mody, vice president of product management. “This recognition emphasizes our goal of continued enhancement of product offerings providing engineers with HMI applications which enable them to achieve operational excellence across their manufacturing and industrial businesses. Wonderware has a reputation for delivering innovative new ways of tying people and information together, and we will continue our development efforts focused on this goal.”
