CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, USA (ISA EXPO 2005) - October 25, 2005 - Invensys Process Systems and SWANTECH Incorporated today announced that they have established a partnership agreement, whereby Invensys Process Systems will incorporate SWANTECH condition monitoring technology into asset performance management (APM) solutions recently announced by Invensys. The SWANTECH technology will be offered under the Invensys name, and Invensys will offer support services and training.
The SWANTECH technology employs a new type of condition parameter that measures friction and stress. This innovative measurement provides earliest possible notification of machine degradation, long before customary vibration sensing solutions will detect a problem. As a result, asset maintenance becomes predictive rather than reactive, allowing users to truly manage their assets to optimal performance levels.
"The SWANTECH condition monitoring system will play a key role in Invensys Process Systems' delivery of comprehensive asset performance management solutions," said Marty Kurowski, vice president of alliances marketing for Invensys Process Systems. "By providing new insight into the condition of process equipment in real time, SWANTECH's early detection capabilities will help Invensys customers optimize process equipment reliability and availability, mitigate risk, and achieve greater return on their asset investments."
"Asset management has become a strategic initiative sought by users world wide," said Ralph Genesi, president and CEO of SWANTECH. "We were looking to work with a world class organization in the process control industry that was committed to delivering best in class asset performance solutions and services. Invensys Process Systems offers an unmatched portfolio within the process Industry that also perfectly complements the SWANTECH condition monitoring system and services."
Invensys asset performance management solutions enable users to monitor, predict, and effectively manage both the availability and utilization of their industrial assets to help maximize overall asset value and improve business performance. These applied APM solutions draw upon technology and expertise from across Invensys Process Systems (Avantis, Foxboro, Sim-Sci-Esscor, Triconex, Wonderware) and its technology partners. The Invensys family of component- and system-level APM solutions is being continually expanded to encompass industry-specific asset sets.
