Invensys to present on biotechnology process automation at INTERPHEX Puerto Rico

Posted 27 January 2006

Presentation discusses the collaborative, standards-based approach to bio-process design employed for Genentech’s successful Project TRINITY and related process performance benefits

Daren Moffatt, a pharmaceutical industry specialist at Invensys Process Systems, will present a technical case study paper at the INTERPHEX Puerto Rico Conference on February 16th 2006 at 11:00 AM. The presentation was developed in conjunction with Ron Menendez, a senior automation engineer at Genentech.

The presentation, based on the successful Project TRINITY at Genentech’s flagship South San Francisco bio-manufacturing facility, examines process design, an early, but critical, step in the automation of a biotechnology process and the benefits of using a collaborative team approach with early involvement by all parties. This helps to ensure that the project requirements are built into the design and successfully fulfilled. The importance of a standards-based approach is also discussed, as are the process performance improvements realized using this overall approach.
Invensys Process Systems is also demonstrating instruments, systems, software, and services from the company’s Foxboro, SimSci-Esscor, Validation Technologies, and Wonderware units at Interphex Puerto Rico Booth #906. (Additionally, Invensys’ local Foxboro instrumentation representative – PAS Technologies, Inc. – will be exhibiting a variety of high-quality Foxboro field instruments at Booth #931.)
